As Far As Reassuring Games Go

That was about as reassuring as swift kick to the junk. Still, 2 points is 2 points, and that was a masterful kill near the end of the game. I've happily updated the magic numbers, and added San Jose Games Remaining as requested.

On the radio broadcast after the game there was a fantastic interview by Jamie with JR talking about how the past month has seen less than stellar play. They spoke really candidly and neither one was at all concerned. They talked about how many games the Sharks have had to play in such a short time, and how exhausted the guys are getting. They almost seemed amused at how worked up the fans and media are getting and were eerily confident that in the next few weeks the Sharks will look like they did at the beginning of the season. Sold! Great interview.

Also, can someone please explain the rules in reviewing goals? It was my understanding, and maybe I'm getting confused with the NFL, that if a goal is called on the ice by the referee and it goes to review, the suits in Canada only need to see that it wasn't a goal, not that it was a goal. During the Detroit clusterfuck, when the Sharks goal was overturned Drew talked to Toronto and they told him that they never saw the puck cross the line. But they don't need to see the puck cross the line, correct? The referee standing behind the net saw it go in, and all the guys in Toronto need to see is conclusive evidence that the puck DID NOT cross the line. All the angles shown on TV didn't give conclusive evidence that it never fully crossed the line, and unless Conklin had a camera up his ass that only Toronto has access to I think it's safe to say we saw the best angles.

Am I getting this confused with the NFL? Is the rule that once it goes to review they need to prove it's a goal no matter what the on ice referee called?

Either way the Sharks didn't deserve to win that game, but the knuckleheads in stripes didn't do us any favors either.

Nope, you're right on the money Ted. It was a shoddy call.

I doubt we would have won that game anyways, but ya never know.
