I don't know much about Malhotra other than this:
- A quick look at his stats make him look like Mike Grier - defense + face-offs.
- He was one of those guys on Columbus whose name kept popping up during games with the Sharks.
- He apparently signed for well below his market value, $700,000.
You know what else makes me happy? October 1st is ONE FUCKING WEEK AWAY!!! Holy shit this season snuck up on me.

I'm still not sold on either of the bottom two lines. Nichol I don't know too much about, but Shelley *and* Staubitz is a little redundant. A guy like Roenick would've made this line a lot more interesting. And as for McGinn- I'm hearing a lot of positive things about him, Fear the Fin had a good article about him a few days ago, but he did little to impress me in the games he appeared in last season, and all I remember about him was tentative play. Obviously he will get better with more games, but if he doesn't develop and Mitchell continues to be hurt (God I hope he doesn't end up being injury-plagued) that 3rd line could be inconsistent at best as well. All that being said I'm a lot more excited about this lineup than I was just a month ago, especially with Malhotra being signed. I just like saying his name too. Go Sharks!
